ENKLINGE

While our friends were here for the concert we made an excursion to a museum on the neighboring island of Enklinge, fun afternoon quick ferry and picnic lunch and tour of the old gardens.

There are about 20 buildings in total and untouched from when the last resident lived there. His name was Sven Karlsson and he was born 1897 and passed in 1973. Even though he was injured in his youth and had one leg he was prolific and was a shoe maker, boat builder, carpenter and fisherman. You can see a glimpse back in time to the old fishing village and working farm. Most appreciate the detail and textures and little hints of modernity in the patina. Its a museum of tools and life and really a wonderful place to visit.

Thank you Ingrid for the fantastic tour!

So many beautiful details and hand craft.
